Every county's recorded hazard history
The recorded hazard history of every US county: hail, tornado, flood, wind and winter events since 1950, hurricane passes, federal disaster declarations, flood insurance claims and FEMA's risk index. Search a county, state or ZIP code.
NCEI notes that Storm Data is compiled from a variety of sources including the National Weather Service, other federal, state and local agencies, the media and the public; that property and crop damage figures are estimates; and that some events are recorded by NWS forecast zone rather than by county. FEMA notes that NFIP claim records are redacted and aggregated to protect the privacy of policyholders. Storm records through 30 Jun 2026; declarations refreshed 29 Sep 2026; claims as of 8 Sep 2026.

Event counts depend on reporting as well as weather: NCEI recorded only tornadoes, hail and thunderstorm wind before 1996, and reporting density varies by NWS office. See the methodology and the guide to how NCEI records events.
